Sustainability Management

Basic Policy

We aim to contribute to a sustainable society and increase our corporate value by practicing our corporate philosophy, “Innovating value for humans and society on a brighter planet.”
In addition, we have defined a Management Approach comprised of five items—“strive for value,” “love the planet,” “contribute to society,” “respect the individual,” and “act with integrity.” Based on this, we have specified the basic conduct and behavior expected of all of our companies and employees in The Alps Alpine Group Code of Conduct and deployed them to Group bases across the globe. We also conduct training sessions regularly to increase awareness of these principles among our employees.

Responding to Sustainability Issues (FY2025~2027)

As we launched our Mid-Term Business Plan 2027 this Fiscal year, we reviewed our material issues in light of global and societal trends, as well as changes within our organization. The numerous sustainability-related issues identified were integrated into the plans of each division and department. Their progress and direction for resolution are reviewed quarterly at Sustainability Committee meetings.

Promotion Structure

From FY2025, the structure for promoting sustainability activities was revised, and the Sustainability Committee was positioned as part of the Vice Presidents’ Meeting. The committee convenes quarterly to ensure more fundamental and rapid resolution of sustainability issues, monitoring progress across divisions and departments while discussing and guiding responses to various issues. The committee’s activities are reported to the Board of Directors, which oversees them. This cycle raises the decision-making level for addressing issues and enhances effectiveness. Furthermore, starting in FY2024, to encourage executive leadership in promoting sustainability initiatives, indicators related to external ESG evaluations of the Company were added to the performance assessment for restricted share compensation for executive officers.

Sustainability Training

Sustainability-related training has been provided to all employees in Japan, including officers and temporary employees, since fiscal 2022. In fiscal 2024, training covered the topics of Sustainable Procurement. Implemented as a video, there were around 7,800 participants. A questionnaire was also conducted to survey employees about sustainability matters, such as their sustainability awareness and topics they wished to learn about. Findings will be reflected in the training program for fiscal 2025.
