Risk Management
Basic Policy
At Alps Alpine, we view risk management as the basis for a style of management and business operation that enables sustainable business growth and enhanced corporate value over the medium to long term—in other words, a foundation for growth-oriented management. We will work to eliminate or minimize future potential risks and the damage that may be incurred due to the diversifying number of risks associated with the globalization of our business and to the increasing complexity of our supply chain.
Risk Management Activity Cycle
A dedicated risk management department develops risk mitigation measures and business continuity plans (BCPs), and conducts training and education. In the event of crises such as natural disasters or cyberattacks with significant business impact, a Crisis Management Headquarters led by the president is established to ensure swift recovery and minimize damage.
Development of a Risk Map
As part of risk management, risks are visualized and assessed based on the likelihood of occurrence, business impact, and mitigation status to create a risk map. The map is used to prioritize risk mitigation measures.
Crisis Management System
As part of our preparedness during normal times, we have established a crisis management manual and an information-sharing framework to prepare for events that could significantly impact our business operations or supply chain. We also conduct comprehensive disaster drills at each site annually, along with regular safety status reporting drills for employees and Group company staff. In addition, in the event something happens that may cause the suspension or cessation of business activities at a site or in the region where the site is located, we will promptly set up various task forces depending on the degree of impact and based on reports from relevant departments. Based on reports from relevant departments, the task forces will formulate Companywide response policies, measures, plans, etc., and establish a system to promptly report to stakeholders the status of damage and the impact on our business. Furthermore, in the event of a disaster at the headquarters, a second Companywide crisis head-quarters will be established at the Sendai R&D Center (Furukawa).
