Alps Alpine in Numbers

In November of 1948, the Company was established under the name of Kataoka Electric Co., Ltd., in Yukigayaotsukamachi, Ota-ku, Tokyo, with 500,000 yen in capital and a total staff of 23 people. Following that, in December of 1964, the Company name was changed to Alps Electric Co., Ltd.
In May of 1967, Alps Motorola Inc. (the current Alpine Electronics Inc.) was established.
And then in January of 2019, Alps Electric and Alpine integrated their businesses to give birth to Alps Alpine Co., Ltd.

The Company’s sales reach 990.4 billion yen.
The breakdown of sales for each individual business segment is as shown in the graph. The main source of sales in the Components Segment is products for smartphones, while in the Mobility (Module and System) Segment it is products for automotive applications.

Alps Alpine has 27,287 employees, including those working for our group companies around the world. The ratio of employees by individual country is as shown in the graph. Japan accounts for 30.3% of the ratio of employees.

In fiscal year 2025, as in fiscal year 2024, the board of directors is composed in such a way that outside directors make up the majority.
At the meeting of the board of directors, in addition to deliberating and making decisions on important matters related to management, executive directors are entrusted with making decisions on important business execution matters. Also, the board of directors is positioned as an organization that inspects and supervises the situation of business execution, and that endeavors to strengthen the monitoring function.

We have declared our commitment to transition 100% of the electricity used in our operations to renewable energy by fiscal year 2030. In fiscal year 2024, the adoption rate of renewable energy increased by 8.6% compared to fiscal year 2023, thanks to the installation of solar power systems, expanded external procurement of renewable electricity, and the use of renewable energy certificates.

The number of patents held by the entire group is 7,451.
Also, the number of new patents obtained in fiscal 2024 was 637, and we are continually filing for new patents every year.

In fiscal 2024, Alps Alpine invested 24.3 billion yen in R&D costs.
Through the generation of technology assets combined with the cloud domain in addition to our unique strengths in the integration of hardware and software, we are accelerating the development of new products that provide new values in “excitement ,” “safety,” and “environmental friendliness.”
