Alps Electric to Exhibit at IoT Asia 2018
Alps Electric Co., Ltd. (TOKYO: 6770; President: Toshihiro Kuriyama; Head Office: Tokyo) will exhibit at IoT Asia 2018 to introduce a wide range of technologies, with particular focus on the Internet of Things (IoT) market. IoT Asia 2018 takes place at the Singapore Expo Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore on March 21 and 22.
At IoT Asia 2018, one of the Asia-Pacific region’s leading IoT-related trade shows, Alps Electric will introduce its latest technologies and products for the Internet of Things domain, which is expected to enjoy continued growth in the near future.
In particular, Alps Electric will introduce its Sensor Network Modules. These development kits for IoT applications have an extensive track record in Japan, employed on numerous occasions in the creation of IoT businesses, and have been very well received by many customers. The Sensor Network Modules are equipped with three types of environmental sensor, a motion sensor and a low-power wireless communication device. Logs of measured data can be kept using a smartphone or other device. This makes them useful for examination and testing of IoT business models prior to introduction without having to put in place large-scale infrastructure.
Other exhibits will include various demonstrations illustrating Sensor Network Module application examples for Industry 4.0 and Smart Cities, as well as an extensive range of Alps Electric’s latest products, such as data communication modules for automotive use, which are essential for the realization of connected vehicles, and a broad variety of switches, potentiometers and other products in the human-machine interface (HMI) domain, where Alps has many years’ experience.

Integrating low-power, high-precision and compact sensors with a Bluetooth® communication module, these products are capable of acquiring pressure, temperature, humidity, ambient light and other environmental data, as well as six-axis (geomagnetism + acceleration) sensing.
A special app (for Android) is available for viewing data and changing sensing settings on a smartphone or tablet. In addition, radio certification has already been acquired for various regions around the world, allowing smooth, low-cost progression to demonstration testing.
At IoT Asia 2018, we will also exhibit a Function Expansion Type enabling connection of an extra sensor.
